The clever locking system of the Avocet ABS® diamond grade cylinder knows when it has been snap attacked and fires into action to create a robust barrier to entry.

The patented Active Cam Technology™ is hidden deep within a solid Molybdenum cam which is 20% stronger than steel, and delivers ultimate resistance against a lock snapping attack and snap/twist manipulation.

Two Sacrificial Break Points

The external (outside) part of an ABS® lock has two sections that will break away if an intruder attempts to attack the lock.

If the first section is removed your ABS® key can still be inserted into the lock to safely open the door.

If the second sacrificial section is removed the ABS Active Cam Technology will fire into action to lock off both the cam and access into your home!

Lock Bumping and Pick Protection

First of all its important to note that lock bumping and picking are skills acquired by locksmiths with years and years of experience – And in our experience are not used by the opportunistic burglar.

Lock bumping is a method of entry that uses a modified key which is tapped with a rubber mallet or tool to make the pins jump to the shear line within the cylinder – the result is quick and quiet access.

ABS has an advanced magnetic anti-bump and double pin within pin system which effectively stops lock bumping keys from opening the lock.

Here are a few Tips to help you stay safe and secure. Always close and lock your doors and windows when you go out. Don’t leave gardening tools lying around, lock them up in a shed or garage. If you have a garden gate it is advisable to have some kind of locking fitted, make sure the gate is locked when you are away from the property. Combination key safes are ideal when you need to leave a key for a tradesman or visitor. The combinations can be changed regularly and these are safer than leaving a key under a mat or plant pot. Don’t leave car keys on tables or hooks which are visible through your letterbox, It is also a good idea to fit letterbox guards. As many as 10 million homes across the UK have been fitted with windows that have external beading. If you are one of these households, You need to do something about it straight away as glass in externally beaded windows can be very easy to remove.

How Can You Tell?

You Do This By Simply Looking At The Windows!

In externally beaded windows, The glass has been put in from the outside and is held in place by strips of plastic (The Beads) which are clipped in place between the glass and the frame. Internally beaded windows are simply the opposite with the beading on the inside.

NO-GO Glass Locks

The Simple, Low Cost Solution

The NO-GO Glass Lock is fitted by securing a metal lock base to the glass, Using an adhesive developed to give an exceptionally strong bond to glass. A metal clamp is secured to the base. The clamp then prevents the glass from being removed. The clamp is adjustable and fits all sizes of domestic windows. Two locks per glazed pane are sufficient to prevent the glass from being removed.
